A question on the Daily Liberal Facebook page about what residents would like to see in the CBD received a flood of responses calling for chains such as Kmart and Timezone to set up shop.
But, despite it’s popularity a Kmart spokesperson said they had “no announcement” to make.
“We are always looking for new locations to bring people our everyday low prices, and that includes Dubbo. At this time we have no announcements, however if this changes we will advise the community with a formal announcement,” the spokesperson said.

There have been calls for the retail to consider Dubbo for more than 10 years.
IKEA Australia thanked the public for its interested in the company, but quickly ruled out Dubbo as a location for a new store.
“IKEA is always exploring opportunities to expand and be more accessible to more people, however we do not currently have plans to open a store in Dubbo,” a spokesperson said.
There are only three IKEA stores in NSW.
Burger chain Grill’d had a different response. A team member said: “In the words of a wise poet. Never Say Never”.
Questions were also put to 7-Eleven and Rebel Sport to see if they would expand to Dubbo but neither responded.
