The event allows children facing adversity or a serious illness to be taken on an exhilarating joy flight and break away from those challenges for a day.
“The Dubbo Aero Club are very thankful that we get this opportunity every year to show local disadvantaged members of our community an experience they can look back on and smile,” Aero Club spokesperson Dale Robertson said.
Dubbo Aero Club are just one club nationally that participate each year, with the day lead by volunteers including volunteer pilots and non-profit organisations that support children and families in need.
Aero clubs all over Australia have participated in the day over the past 10 years, making it a truly national day, celebrating everyday people doing something inspirational for children facing adversity, just because it’s a great thing to do.
