Cancer patients were given a boost of confidence on Monday with a Look Good Feel Better workshop in Dubbo.
The free program was run by volunteers to teach patients how to manage the appearance-related side effects caused by cancer treatments.
Look Good Feel Better covers skincare techniques to address common side effects like dryness and sun sensitivity, makeup tips to hep correct and conceal redness and dark circles, as well as techniques for drawing on eyebrows and advice on headwear like scarf styling.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Participants are also given a Confidence Kit full of donated skincare and makeup products to use in their own homes.
As well as the makeup tips, the Look Good Feel Better workshops allow patients to meet others in a similar situation. Friendships and additional support networks can be formed during the workshops that can help during diagnosis and treatment.
The program relies on donations, like that from the Greater Charitable Foundation, to run. To register for a workshop or support the program visit lgfb.org.au.
