Having started chemotherapy and about to work through multiple surgeries, Ben’s friends and family have rallied the local community through a fantastic fundraising night set down for this weekend.
Event organiser Tom Warren said that there were well over one hundred items donated to date, with items including everything from holidays, tools, fishing gear, joy flights, sporting memorabilia, artwork, air conditioners, and women’s skin care packages.
Tom said that the message he would like to pass on is that men need to check on their health regularly.
“Blokes need to take the time to remember that we aren’t bullet proof, and regular check-ups shouldn’t be forgotten. There is no shame in making sure you are always healthy.”, he said
“Mental health is another aspect of our health that we should feel comfortable talking with our friends and family about.
“Being fit and healthy in all aspects of our lives is critical and can be talked about openly.”
Born and bred in Dubbo, Ben attended Orana Heights Primary School and Delroy High. While being an active member of the local building community, Ben is also a passionate fisher, snowboarder and wakeboarder.
A full list of items will be on Facebook- “Ben Mosley’s Fundraiser Night” in the days leading up to the event, and all items will be available for viewing from 3pm at the Garden Hotel, prior to the event kick off at 6pm. Viewing of auction items will start from 3.00pm with the charity auction to commence at 6.00pm. Ten dollar schnitzels will be on the menu for the event thanks to the Garden Hotel.
