It’s about giving back and helping those people within the cricket community who need the game more than many would know.
Stuart Clark, Stuart MacGill and Andrew Ryan will feature in the SCG XI which takes on a Dubbo XI at No. 1 Oval while Glenn McGrath will also be in attendance at the ground.
For a gold coin donation people can head to No. 1 Oval to watch the match while also take part in an auction and walk away with some amazing sporting prizes.
The money raised on the night will go to the Buy A Bale drought relief campaign.
“It’s wonderful to bring a game like this to Dubbo and have international calibre players,” Dubbo and District Cricket Association secretary Mel Hancock said.
“And it’s a chance to support our farmers. A lot of them play cricket and use that as an outlet and that’s really important.
“Getting out and playing is good for mental health and it’s nice to be part of a cricket community that wants to give back.”
Among the auctions items is a private suite at the SCG for a Sydney Sixers match, four members tickets for day one of the Sydney New Year’s Test, SCG tour passes and a signed Sydney Thunder bat.
There’s much more than cricket items on offer, with a signed Australian rugby league jersey, and a 2019 NRL grand final package including tickets and jersey.
“The prizes are phenomenal,” Hancock said.
“The SCG Trust has done an amazing job in organising a lot of them and there’s not anywhere else you’d be able to see players like this.
“It’s in Dubbo and for a gold coin donation you will get some pretty great entertainment. You can’t get that anywhere else.
“But really, this is all about the farmers.”
The action at No. 1 Oval starts with a junior game at 4.30pm. Gates open to the public at 5pm with the match to start at 6.30pm.
