During the campaign more than 60 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) were installed in Dubbo’s high traffic areas, comprised of 33 funded by the community and 30 from Dubbo Regional Council.
Dubbo Red Cross first aid trainer George Chapman said while the number of installations was impressive, he had been contacted to installed even more.
“Members of the public came to me and said they felt an AED was needed between the Post Office and Old Dubbo Gaol. Other people also felt one was needed between the Myer building and Service NSW centre. I checked the locations and agree, there’s too big a gap,” Mr Chapman said.
“I also think one is needed at the top end of Talbragar Street, So that means I’m back on the campaign trail until I have these units installed.”
The Dubbo Prostate Support Group has already donated $600 towards the campaign.
Donations can be made for the defibrillators via the Rotary Club of Dubbo using BSB number 932 000 and account number 100 380 639. The donor’s name should be used as a reference.
