Gregory Maxwell Marginson, 60, appeared in person on bail as his case was mentioned before visiting magistrate Mary Ryan on Wednesday.
Mr Marginson first faced court in January on a charge of using a carriage service for child pornography material.
In March multiple counts of possessing child abuse material were laid.
Mentioning the matter on September 5, Mr Marginson’s solicitor said representations to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had been lodged.
On Wednesday the defence updated the court on the progress of the matter.
Representations made to the Commonwealth DPP were “successful”, he said.
The solicitor said he had received a draft set of facts.
He applied for a four-week adjournment so the draft facts could be finalised.
The magistrate adjourned the matter until October 31.
Police alleged that on September 25 last year Mr Marginson used a carriage service for child pornography material.
It is also alleged that between September 25, 2017 and March 16 this year, Mr Marginson possessed child abuse material on an Apple iMac, two Apple laptops and a storage device.
Anyone convicted of the offence faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail, if it is dealt with in the District Court.
Ms Ryan continued bail, which was granted earlier this year with strict conditions including the accused not possess or access a device capable of accessing the internet, nor attend or participate in activities where there were children present.
