The City of Dubbo Turf Club is encouraging tradies and their ladies to get to the track this Friday from 1 pm for Tradies Race Day.

General manager of the City of Dubbo Turf Club Vince Gordon said tradies should hang up their tool belt early, put on a suit and enjoy some punting.
“It is the Friday before the long weekend, tradies, and anyone from the general public can kick-start the weekend by having some fun at the track,” he said.
“We know a few tradesmen who knock off a bit early on Fridays and we encourage them to join us, it will be free entry on their white card.
Mr Gordon said the high quality of the horses across the eight-race meet is due to the consistent surface and reliability of the track.
“Trainers are happy to come to and support the track and our race meets are growing and becoming a feature on the race calendar,” he said.
“A couple of races and horses to look out for are Race One the Tunes on the Track Maiden horse number 9 Havenot is the horse to watch. It has a good draw and Allen Denham from Wyong has travelled from the coast looking to break his maiden.
“Race four the Beatles Go Bush Maiden Plate watch the Brett Cavanough trained Arnult with apprentice Qin Yong claiming three kilos will be hard to beat.
“Popular Local Kenny Succeed trained by local favourite Kody Nestor will look to constituent his form in the Benchmark 66 handicap. Dubbo trainers Connie Greig and Garry Lunn both have strong contenders accepted for the day and will look to continue their strong form throughout the meeting.”
