Grounds won the event by 47.54 seconds ahead of Sydney Uni Velo Club rider Ella Bloor, with Jade Colligan (Nowra Cycle Club) in third (+1 minute 16.37 seconds).
A triple national champion at the Cycling Australia National Masters Road Championships in 2017 and a multiple National Champion at the National Masters Track Championships in early 2018, Grounds backed her Saturday heroics with victory in the women’s division one Acciona Gunning Wind Farm Goulburn Great Divide Road Race in a sprint finish on Sunday.
Luke Ensor also took part in the Acciona Gunning Wind Farm Goulburn Great Divide Road Race on Sunday and finished 11th in a strong division two men’s event. Dubbo Cycle Club held the final rounds of the Dubbo City Toyota Senior and Junior Road Racing Series over the weekend.
In the under-9 and 11 road race at the Lincoln County Raceway, Emily Himes (4 minute handicap) was too strong for Jess Fuller and Lachie Farr (both off 2 minute handicaps), while in the under-13 road race, Riley Dodd (limit group) bested Georgia Farr (limit group), Dash Aubusson Foley (5 minute handicap), Makayla Fuller (6 minute handicap), Isabelle Russell (8 minute handicap), Imogen Fuller (7 minute 30 second handicap) and Tom Williamson (8 minute handicap). Cooper Farr set a slippery time in the participation race for his seven lap event.
Kurt Eather outsprinted Tim Hines (second), Dylan Eather (third) and Ben Anderson (fourth) to take out the final round of the Senior Road Racing Series on the Mogriguy course, with Cray May in fifth, Haylee Fuller in sixth, Danny Barber in seventh, Zara Fuller in eighth, Mark Fuller in ninth and Jason Farr in tenth.
Track training will start Thursday September 27.
