More than 100 people attended the event to meet one of Australia’s most loved story tellers.
The author of over 40 books, Morris is the Children’s Laureate for 2018-2019.
While in Dubbo, Morris spoke of his creative process and delighted the audience with tales of his imaginary childhood friends and how they helped shaped his books, which have been cherished by readers for over 20 years.
He also spoke of his love of reading and praised libraries, which he would frequently visit in his youth to source inspiration for his writing.
Morris Gleitzman’s latest book, Help Around the House, is the story of Ludo – a young boy who moves to Canberra and offers to help Australia’s Members of Parliament.
The funny and moving story is available to borrow now, along with a range of Morris’s other books, including the critically acclaimed Once series.
