Classical guitarist Campbell Diamond, who grew up in Dubbo, is returning to his hometown for a concert at the Macquarie Conservatorium Dubbo on Friday.
“Macquarie Conservatorium is delighted that Campbell Diamond will be performing in his hometown while he is briefly back in Australia,” Macquarie Conservatorium director Vivienne Winther said.
“He’s been touring in Europe and South America this July and August, so we are thrilled he has time for a concert in Dubbo, before returning to Europe for another concert tour of Germany in October”.

Since his last concert in Dubbo in 2014, the young musician has won first prizes at six of the world’s most prestigious guitar competitions held in Germany, Italy, Portugal and Greece.
Campbell is a graduate of the ANU School of Music in Canberra, where he studied with the renowned Tim Kain. He began his guitar studies at Macquarie Conservatorium and continued with video lessons through Riverina Conservatorium. He is currently completing postgraduate studies in Cologne at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz with Hubert Käppel, and has also studied at the Koblenz International Guitar Academy.
He has given concerts all around Australia and in Germany, Austria, Serbia, Greece, Romania, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Portugal, France, India, Japan, Korea, China and Brazil as soloist and chamber musician. He has just released his debut CD, Prelude, and his concert in Dubbo will feature music from his CD by Tarrega, Brouwer and Paganini.
Refreshments will be served at the end of the concert, so his Dubbo audience will have a chance to catch up with Campbell.
The concert will be held at 6pm and tickets are on sale now at Macquarie Conservatorium or online at www.123tix.com.au.
