A leadership spill was called this week in Canberra and we now have a new Prime Minister.
Mr Ayoub and Labor’s rural and regional spokesman Joel Fitzgibbon both weighed in on the leadership fracas and promised Labor would provide stable government if elected.
Mr Ayoub said Labor had learnt from its past mistakes, but the Liberal Party had not.
“Labor has learnt, we have changed our party rules as a result and that is why you can be assured of stable leadership from us.

“You would have thought the Coalition would have learnt from our mistakes, but clearly they have not,” he said.
“Labor has learnt, we have changed our party rules as a result and that is why you can be assured of stable leadership from us.
“I am deeply troubled by recent events in Canberra. This dishonourable behaviour degrades our democracy, it is time a new generation of political leaders refocused our nation’s politics to the people and the issues they face.”
Mr Fitzgibbon said the Liberal Party had let regional people down and were bad for the country
“People living and working in regional Australia will be disappointed with events in Canberra this week,” he said.
“We need politicians focused on the needs and aspirations of regional communities, not themselves.
“This week a government with a majority in the House of Representatives effectively gave up on governing.
“That’s a very bad for our country.”
Reports indicate that Labor is preparing for an election to be called before Christmas.
Labor leader Bill Shorten said Labor is ready to govern.
“My united and stable Labor team are ready to govern,” he said.
“We are 100 per cent focused on delivering a fair go for all Australians. We are the only ones with a plan for lower electricity prices, lifting your wages, making sure you have proper childcare and making sure schools and university are affordable.”
