That makes the chance to compete in this weekend’s 2018 World Junior Motocross Championship even more special.
Deveson and fellow Dubbo young gun Blake Fox will take on the world’s best young talents at Horsham in Victoria this weekend.

“I’m really excited and am just so pumped I got picked,” Deveson said, his record and work at a training camp earlier in the year sealing his spot in the squad.
“I love it so much. It’s so much fun and a good experience. I love that you get to travel around the country and ride with new people and also ride with friends.”
Deveson, 10, was selected as one of the youngest riders in the team to race in the 10-12 years 65cc class, while 14-year-old Fox will compete in the 13-17 years 125cc class.

Deveson, a year four student at St Mary's Primary School, had wins at the Hattah Desert Race and Coffs Harbour Stadium X this year, as well as podium finishes in the East Coast Series and Horsham MX Amateurs races on his KTM 65cc machine.
While the statistics and list of wins is impressive, even someone as young as Deveson knows that can count for nothing on the big stage.
Speaking at last weekend’s Mac Daddy Cup at Morris Park, which Fox was unavailable for, Deveson said his focus was on his own riding, not other reputations.
“I haven’t raced many of them so don’t know what it will be like,” he said of this weekend.
“When I get there I’m just going to try my best.”
For Fox, despite his tender age, he will be heading to Horsham as one of the competitors with a high profile.
The rising star already has a number of Australian and NSW junior motocross and supercross titles to his name.
The year eight student at St John’s College is currently riding for the KTM Australia Junior Motocross Racing Team in the MX Nationals series where he has been sitting top in the Rising Star Rookies 13-16 years 250cc class and second in the Yamaha 13-16 years 125cc Juniors class.
“We’re good mates. He’s a good person, Deveson said of Fox, before speaking about his friend’s chances this weekend.
“I reckon he’ll go pretty well. He’s nice and consistent and never gives up, even times when he crashes.”
Crashes is part of the sport and Deveson said both he and Fox were lucky to have such supportive and helpful family and friends who help them with everything from fixing issues with bikes to driving them all over the country to compete.
