The store opened at 9.45, an hour and 45 minutes after the expected 8am Sunday opening.
A spokesperson said an automatic register update on Saturday night and Sunday morning had caused a glitch which meant stores around the country were unable to open on time on Sunday morning.
Coles stores across the country were affected by the technical fault affecting the cash registers.
The glitch affected a string of Coles outlets nationwide including in capital cities and regional areas.
The outage has affected some but not all outlets. Some stores around the country had reopened before 10am, while others were open early, but closed again later.
“We apologise. This store is currently closed due to circumstances beyond our control," read a sign outside one Coles store.
"We are working to resolve the issue and will re-open as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
