Held on August 8 each year, the day is a 24-hour long recognition of the special moggy in your family.
Petbarn Dubbo is encouraging residents to consider adopting a new feline friend for the big day. There are currently two adults and two kittens at the Dubbo store, with more expected in the coming days.
To adopt a cat, you have to be at least 18 years old, employee Lily Wilson said.
She said residents were invited to come into the store, play with some of the cats and see if they would be a good fit for the family.
Dog lovers may think their Fido is the bees knees, but cat lovers know that there is nothing better than a purring cat curling up on your lap.
So, roll out the red carpet, grab the catnip and celebrate all that is great about the kitties in our lives.
In order to mark this special day, we’re creating a gallery of your cat photos to share with our readers, so bring on the big, small, noisy, naughty and purring cats – we’d love to see all your photos.
Email your photo to dubbo.photos@fairfaxmedia.com.au or post them on the Daily Liberal’s Facebook page.
