Fifteen adults and six kids volunteered to give Dubbo Macquarie River Bushcare a helping hand for National Tree Day.
Bushcare member Sam Davies said the planting was being undertaken on at Nulla Road site to stabalise the steep bank, as well as to add to the river foodweb by planting trees that would attract birds and insects. It’s part of a five year project to protect, repair and connect with the river.
It might have been National Tree Day, but Ms Davies said Dubbo Macquarie River Bushcare undertook the same work throughout the year. Anyone who missed out volunteering at the weekend should follow their social media to find out other ways they could help out, she said.
