But a quick look around his squad has the battle-hardened, Dubbo junior confident the Tahs can weather the reception at the Lions' Ellis Park stronghold and book an against-the-odds grand final appearance.
The Waratahs lived to fight another day after a 30-23 comeback quarter-final defeat of the Highlanders in Sydney last weekend.

The incumbent Wallabies bench prop played all 80 minutes of that game but says he won't be feeling the impact of that, or the jet lag, in South Africa on Saturday night (AEST).
"I'd say this is the biggest challenge of my Super Rugby career," Robertson told AAP.
"I've never played finals before and you know what the Lions are like.
"It'll be a loud crowd but a lot of the guys - I think there's 11 Wallabies in the side - have dealt with it and know how to cope with it."
Despite the size of the challenge, Robertson said his side's offensive weapons and experience put them in a position to create history.
"We're in best shape we've been in; the doctors and strength and conditioning staff are all over us," he said.
"We've had the belief all year."
The Waratahs' set piece play and line-out will be key.
