Dunbar has been in good form of late, with a double at Carinda on Saturday following on from the wins at Dubbo and Gunnedah.
At Coonabarabran, Podium Bound heads into the meeting having had mixed fortunes in three starts this preparation.
He won first-up at Dubbo in a photo finish but that has been followed by a fifth-placed run and, most recently, a ninth-placed finish at Gunnedah.
He tuned up for Coonabarabran with a trial run at Dubbo last week and on Saturday the Gibson-trained gelding will contest the Class 1 and Maiden Plate (1600m).
The event has attracted a mix of starters with Trajectory, from the Dubbo stables of Cindy Monaghan, heading to Coonabarabran after winning at Nyngan last start while Happens Nomore, the highest rated starter in the event, has run second in his past two starts for Moree trainer Peter Sinclair.
Racing starts at 1.41pm on Saturday.
