A man aged in his 50s is facing seven charges over allegations he took an eight-year-old girl from a location at Wellington and sexually assaulted her in December.
He is also facing two counts of procuring a child to produce child abuse material and two counts of producing child abuse material.
Remanded in custody since that time, he was not required to appear in court on Wednesday.

It was adjourned to August 29.
There was no application for bail and it was formally refused.
