Damian Lee Barber, 34, of Brisbane Street, Cowra, was given a two-year good behaviour bond with supervision for stealing the meat, which included $12 worth of herb turkey.
According to a police report, Barber ordered the turkey and other cold meat at the supermarket’s deli at 5.10pm on October 15 but then went into the lolly aisle where he was captured on CCTV putting the meat into his pants.
Police were informed and they found Barber walking along McLachlan Street at 5.45pm and searched him and found the meat.
Magistrate David Day said the offence was aggravated by Baber’s criminal history and he needs rehabilitation.
