The Galaxy Girls of Wellington are putting the finishing touches to Neon Party.
The free event for 12- to 17-year-olds will be held at Dubbo on Saturday.
It will feature glow in the dark face painting, live music, a photobooth and food from 7pm to 9pm.
Wellington-based Barnardos Reconnect youth worker Shiree Talbot said Neon Party was the latest project from a partnership with Signal Creative.
In March the Galaxy Girls performed at Canberra’s Enlighten Festival.
“To bring it back home now, and say to all the other young people who will be attending Neon Party… we’ve done this, if it’s something you’re interested in, you can do it too,” Ms Talbot said.

Young people from Mudgee are among those heading to Neon Party.
“So we’re really excited for all these young people to get together and have a really awesome night, at a venue that’s going to be really well supervised,” Ms Talbot said.
“I really have an immense sense of pride for these young women and everything they’ve achieved alongside Signal Creative and Barnardos in the past 12 months.”
