Dubbo is part of the Rascals and Ratbags Roadshow which marks 150 years since the last convict ship arrived in Australia.
Royal Australian Mint CEO Ross MacDiarmid said as well as being able to strike their own coin, anyone who visited the pop-up would also be able to swap coins, buy special circulating coins or see new products from the mint.
Mr MacDiarmid said the roadshow gave regional communities the chance to see what the Mint had to offer. Most people were unaware of what the Royal Australian Mint did, he said.
The roadshow also celebrated the role convicts played in the history and culture of the country, Mr MacDiarmid said.
The Rascals and Ratbags Roadshow will be at the rotunda from 8am until 4pm on Thursday, June 21.
