The cold didn’t stop families from enjoying the range of activities on offer like the Scouts rope climb or the pony rides.
Dad Justin Adams said it was his first time at the Festival. He withstood the cold for the day to spend some time with his daughter, he said, wearing a jumper she had bought him.
Annastacia struggled to pick her favourite activity on the day but said it had probably been the pony rides.
Scott Amos said he had been attending the Dads for Kids festival since it started. Sawyer and Orlando had also enjoyed the horses, he said.
Mr Amos said even though it was cold, it was a great way to spend time with the kids.
In addition to all the fun activities, there were also a range of service providers available.
The guest speakers at this year’s event were Matt Hansen and Lionel Wood.
Uniting Child and Family Team program manager Cathy Lambert said she was amazed at the number of people who attended the Dads for Kids Festival.
There were 400 free sports balls to give out to the first 400 children at the festival and Ms Lambert said they had almost gone by lunchtime.
There were a huge number of organisations who had volunteered their time on the day. Ms Lambert said the Scouts and PCYC had both been at the festival since it began.
Service providers were also in attendance.
