The former students now work as a chef, teacher, community development officer and early childhood educator. They returned to speak to the current Year 12 cohort.
Careers head teacher Caroline Watts said she wanted the students to know the variety of paths into the workforce.
“Perhaps the most interesting part of this question and answer session was when the four workers were asked the question: ‘With the benefit of hindsight what would you tell your 17-year-old self?’” Ms Watts said.
The answers were enlightening because while all four were working within their field of interest, they had followed different specialties to what they had originally considered, she said.
