Dubbo Regional Council’s Road Safety Officer Jayne Bleechmore is inviting locals to come to the plaza area on the corner of Percy Street and Nanima Crescent in Wellington on May 28 for the Fatality Free Friday event.
“We are asking locals to come along between 12pm and 2pm to make their Fatality Free Friday pledge on our life-size inflatable car, because we all hold the key to road safety,” Ms Bleechmore said.
“Signing the inflatable car is your pledge to aim for zero road deaths on Friday 25 May. If you can’t make it go online to www.fatalityfreefriday.com and add your pledge there.”
Orana Mid-Western Inspector Dan Skelly said the road toll must decline.
“There were 354 fatal crashes in NSW in 2017. These crashes resulted in 392 fatalities, which is a substantial increase on the past five years, this is far too many families and friends grieving at the loss of a loved one,” Inspector Skelly said.
