The Eagles set-piece and fitness wasn’t up to scratch last week, the coach said, and Jeffs has placed on emphasis on the former in the lead up to Saturday’s clash at the Cowra Rugby Grounds.
The Eagles were stung hard by penalties in the season opener and played 20 minutes of the game with 14 men.
“The scrum and line-out struggled. That’s an area we’ve worked on this week,” Col Jeffs said.
“Keeping in touch is important. Looking at past years we’ve missed out on finals because of games we lost early in the season. To get a result against Dubbo would be beneficial for us going forward.”
