Dubbo was beaten in a high-scoring thriller at Narromine on Sunday, falling just two runs short of the host’s massive total of 9/301.
The victory for Narromine means it will take on minor premiers Wellington in the grand final at Pioneer Oval on Sunday.
“I think home ground advantage is pretty vital in these games,” Ellis said, having won the title on his home turf last season.
“And I don’t want to be seen to be taking sides but the way Narromine played on Sunday, and to score a tight win in the semi-final might just give them the momentum they need to beat Wellington.
“While not wanting to sit on the fence too much, it’s hard to say and I think it’s going to be a very, very enticing grand final next week.”
During the regular season, Narromine played host to Wellington and scored an impressive 82-run win that day.
Kale Bock top-scored with 42 that day and after making 8 against Dubbo in the semi-final he shapes as a key figure for Narromine.
