The 10 February event marks 5 years since the 2012 public debut of the Dubbo-based rock band One Proud Monkey, and is the first of eight shows in their ‘Western Skies Tour’, sponsored by Music NSW, with the band setting out to some less-visited towns in regional NSW.
Since appearing on the scene in 2012, OPM have played more than 35 gigs across regional and metropolitan NSW and ACT, and supported acts like The Whitlams, Kingswood, Delta Riggs and many of Dubbo’s own great artists and songwriters.
One Proud Monkey will be showcasing tracks from their brand new self-titled third album, plus some older tracks dating right back to their 2013 debut album.
One Proud Monkey lead singer and guitarist Clinton Hoy said the band can’t wait to show everyone what they’ve been working on.
“And we’ve tried incredibly hard to develop a show for Dubbo that not only contains good catchy songs and is dynamic, but also celebrates our own journey and celebrates the achievements of other great independent bands around town,” he said.
“We get to really stretch ourselves here in our hometown - set the venue up exactly how we like, play old songs, new songs, even some never-before-heard songs, and basically put everything we have into making sure it’s a memorable night for everyone. We hope people will enjoy it!”
Joining the line-up for the Dubbo event will be Richard Perso, a talented blues/roots multi-instrumentalist from southern NSW and the emerging local band ‘Turn On The Lights’, fresh from wowing crowds at the Dream Festival markets in October 2017.
Live music starts at 7pm, tickets are available from 123tix.com.au ($15) or on the door ($20).
