Tamworth’s Rotary Club of Calala has been sending containers filled with educational and medical equipment and materials to Papua New Guinea since 2006.
The Dubbo club’s support of the project has been led by one of its members, Deb McCreadie.
“The Rotary Club of Dubbo West has joined this project by collecting educational materials including books, paper and equipment donated by schools in our district, and materials purchased from Officeworks with our $1000 donation and a further donation of $200 from Officeworks,” she said.
“The communities use these materials to improve the standard of their education and health care, and hence of the futures of their children.”
The schools contributing to the project are Dubbo College Delroy Campus, Dubbo West Public School, Orana Heights Public School, St John’s College, St John’s Primary School, Wanaaring Public School and Gwabegar Public School.
