The Nature Conservancy Australia is holding a nationwide competition with more than $8000 in prizes to be won. As well as a two-night stay at either Gold Coast or Port Douglas, there’s also almost $1800 in camping equipment and more than $1500 worth of vouchers from Ted’s Cameras on offer.
There’s also an opportunity to have a one-on-one workshop with a competition judge.
The competition categories include: landscape, wildlife, water, urban nature, people in nature and whacky wildlife. There’s also a People’s Choice winner.
The winners will have their work featured online, as well as being featured in an edition of Wild magazine.
In 2016 there were 16,210 entries, TNC Australia director Rich Gilmore said.
“We’ve had so many entries over the years with people from all corners of this country getting out and taking pictures of Australia’s beautiful scenery,” he said.
Last year’s competition winner, now turned judge, Mark Seabury said he was looking forward to seeing the entries.
“I love competitions like this where people are encouraged to get out and give photography a go – you don’t need to be a professional snapper to win,” he said.
“It’s going to be different for me this year, being on the other side of the fence. I can’t wait to see what Australia produces.”
