Fresh from a winning double at Dubbo the previous day, Webster-Hawes combined with South Coast trainer Luke Pepper to take out the opening event on the non-TAB card with Lady Amanda.
The victory continued an amazing winning sequence for the Cowra-based jockey who, prior to Sunday’s meeting at Cootamundra, had ridden six winners from her past 14 rides over a two-week period.
Lady Amanda’s success was the first leg of a winning double for Pepper, who also had Veuve Girl salute later in the program.
Veuve Girl was ridden by Dubbo-based hoop Kody Nestor and saluted with ease over 1400m.
Another local rider, Ken Dunbar, also piloted home a winner on the card when he steered outsider Skygge to victory in the final race of the day for veteran trainer Peter Stanley.
