The pair were named sportswoman and sportsman of the year at the event, which has become an annual fixture.
Dubbo College sports co-ordinator Craig May said the awards are one thing that is helping the college create its own history.
“We’ve got a long history from the old Dubbo High School days, but Dubbo College has only been around since 2002 and we’re looking to really highlight the long history of sport in public education in Dubbo,” he said.
“We’ve created a lot of awards named in honour of families – the Cox Family Award for cricket, the Mastellottos for soccer, the Fardells for cross country, the Ellis’ for basketball, the Dunns with rugby league, Neil Webster for touch and Nita McGrath for netball.
“The Dubbo Hockey Association have the name for the hockey award for the help they give us with facilities.”
