Dubbo’s Mal Norton knows firsthand the trauma that a stroke can inflict.
He has survived seven strokes, and believes he wouldn’t be around if it wasn’t for the work of the Stroke Foundation.
Now he has released a country music album – The Yobbo from Dubbo – with 100% of every $15 purchase going to the foundation.
“Without the Stroke Foundation … I’d probably be dead by now, but as a result of the treatments they have developed, I’m still here,” Mr Norton said. “So I’m giving something back.”
“If you buy it and don’t like it, all you’ve done is donated $15 to the Stroke Foundation and got yourself a good drink coaster!” Mr Norton said.
The album was recorded at Hodge Studios Bathurst, with Mr Norton and Kerry Hodge covering the cost of production. The Yobbo from Dubbo is available at The Old Bank Music Shop, Totally Music and West Dubbo Pharmacy.
