Over 3000 companies and organisations are exhibiting at the giant rural supermarket.
The event draws visitors from all over the Central West and the rest of Australia.
The Commonwealth Bank AgQuip – the premier economic and social event on the Australian agricultural calendar – is where manufacturers and retailers line up to show visitors the latest in cutting edge innovation.
AgQuip will be held from August 22 to 24 on the dedicated AgQuip site just west of Gunnedah.
“This is Australia's biggest and one of the world’s largest agricultural field days,” said field days organisers’ Fairfax Rural Events group manager Kate Nugent.
“It is a major influence and indicator of our primary industry in southern hemisphere with both an international and national presence.”
AgQuip has played a vital role in the commercial operation of thousands of farms in Australia over the past 45 years.
“Even when things are really tough,” Ms Nugent said, “Commonwealth Bank AgQuip has been there as a place farmers can come to get the very best, the most cost-efficient machinery, equipment and advice so they themselves can be more efficient.”
The event is the one chance each year for manufacturers, researchers and retailers to show their best, brightest and newest ideas.
Innovation is something that the field day is seeing increasingly more of in the industry with farmers responding to environmental and technological changes in new and interesting ways.
There are a number of new technology products on display at this year’s special event including autonomous tractors, drones, computer systems and software, control systems, farm security, global positioning systems (GPS), internet, monitoring equipment, precision farming, precision planting equipment and solar technology.
Demonstration areas include the new Soil Conservation earthworks, the new Croplands farm implements, 4WD and Kawasaki bike areas.
