Ms Dodd has been chosen to model for Vanessa Moe at Fashion Week in Brazil. That’ll be followed by a trip to Seychelles in October for World Indigenous Fashion Week.
To attend both events the model has to fund her own flights – a task which she hopes the people of Dubbo can help her achieve.
The Dubbo Charity Fashion Show will be held Sunday from 12pm at Two Doors Tapas and Wine Bar.
Ms Dodd said she was hoping to raise the money through gold coin donations, as well as by raffling items she had been donated from local businesses.
While the event is a fundraiser, it’ll also give budding models a chance to gain some experience.
“I’m really proud to be from Dubbo so I wanted to do something here and get local people involved,” Ms Dodd said.
The model will leave for Brazil next week, but Ms Dodd said she didn’t think the reality would sink in until she was at the airport.
