Although it’s just a small role as an extra in one scene in the Channel 9 series Doctor Doctor, it’s still a scene-change for the ‘Male Model from Mudgee’ – or is it the Male Model from Whyhope now?
“I have no idea what they want from me or what they want me to do, I’m just an extra,” Ken laughed when speaking about his role in the show.
He’s a self-proclaimed ‘addict’ of the show, however, admitting that he first watched because he was happy to support Mudgee before becoming embroiled in what would happen next with Hugh Knight and the cast of Whyhope.
“I was really happy for Mudgee, it was a great opportunity, and it’s a really good show,” he said.
“I like the writing, and it’s been nominated for some awards, so that is always great for the regions that the shows are filming in.”
“The best thing about the show, I think, is that you can find characters like these ones in any country town, and it’s good, and it’s well shot, and it’s great that it’s become so successful.”

Ken also admitted that it was fun to get involved in the behind-the-scenes of Channel 9s hit dramatic series.
“Like I said, I’m not one hundred per cent sure what they’re going to have me doing, but it’s interesting to see how it all works at the back of house,” he said.
“I don’t know if I could be more than an extra for a scripted show; however, it’s always one more take! They ask you to do it just one more time, and I don’t know if I’d have the patience for it at the end of the day.”
Ken’s scenes are being filmed for an episode later in the season, while the Australian comedy drama series will return this Wednesday, August 16.
Keep your eye out in the premiere for scenes filmed around Mudgee, including Market Street, St John’s Anglican Church grounds, Lawson Park, Lawson Park Hotel, the Regent Theatre, Mudgee Public School, the Mudgee Airport and the Mudgee Golf Club.
