Father Philip visited St John’s on Monday and talked to students about the work he has done in Uganda, including setting up a vocational training centre in Uganda that helps disadvantaged people gain skills necessary for employment.
He said the students had shown a lot of interest in the projects, and hoped his visit had expanded their knowledge on Catholic Missions and how countries like Australia were helping those who weren’t as well-off.
“My arrival has been well-received. I’ve been involved in mission work and had a chance to talk to the community,” Father Philip said.
During his visit to Dubbo, Father Philip attended holy masses at St Brigid’s Catholic Church and St Laurence’s Church.
The Bathurst Diocese is one of several he saw during his Australian visit.
