Mal Norton said he believes the Macquarie Inn Dubbo Country Music Spectacular on June 9-11 can become a big event and was delighted that a number of Dubbo artists have come on board to help it grow.
Kirsten Minnick, Bill Kosseris, Lance Birrell, Shane Saffy, Andrew Maddox and Mr Norton are the Dubbo acts who will support high-profile performers The Long and Short of It (Patsy Toop and David Baird), and the Galaxy of Stars from Tamworth, Shaza Leigh, Peggy Gilchrist and Lindsay Butler.
Bathurst’s Kerry Hodge will also perform at the festival.
In addition, Dubbo’s Trevor Hannan will supply sound equipment and perform sound engineering.
The festival will take place at the Macquarie Inn over three days, with free entry for all events over the weekend.
“Those support acts are donating their time and talents in an effort to promote Dubbo and promote country music,” Mr Norton said.
Performances start on Friday night and will resume the following day, with the Macquarie Inn awards for Services to Australian Country Music on Saturday night.
Sunday afternoon includes a winners concert with another show featuring The Long and Short of It taking place that night.
The Macquarie Inn Dubbo Country Music Spectacular takes place in the JC Room at the Macquarie Inn.
