They are in for a new experience when Opera at Dundullimal is staged on the afternoon of Sunday, May 21.
Macquarie Conservatorium and Dundullimal Homestead have joined forces to present the event.
“Inverell has its Opera in the Paddock, and there are similar events in other regional areas, so we think it’s Dubbo’s turn to experience the delights of alfresco opera,” said Macquarie Conservatorium director Vivienne Winther.
Canberra-based opera singers Rebecca Collins, Rachael Duncan and Rohan Thatcher will perform “all the best opera hits” with Ms Winther the pianist. Macquarie Youth Chorus will also entertain the crowd.
The homestead will open at 12.30pm for the concert at 2pm. “What’s unique about this event is the setting,” Ms Winther said. “You can enjoy your favourite opera moments while relaxing with friends over a picnic on the grass.”
