A total of 178 officers took part in the attestation ceremony, and while some will be on the job from Monday in their new command posts, the Orana quartet will start work a week later.
They will spend a further week in Goulburn doing active armed offender training before hitting the beat in Dubbo and the other towns located within the local area command.
NSW police minister Troy Grant, himself a former police officer, said the attestation of Class 330 brings the number of new sworn officers who have passed through the Goulburn Academy since 2011 to 3,937.
“We are committed to boosting the authorised strength of the NSW Police to 16,795 over this term of Government and we are well on our way to achieving this goal,” Mr Grant said.
“The men and women graduating today will be called on to protect communities from Fairfield to Orana, Campsie to Wagga Wagga, and the Northern Beaches to Albury.
“Our new probationary constables deserve the entire State’s gratitude for choosing a profession in which they will be confronted with mental, physical and emotional challenges in the line of duty.
“I know from my own experience just how rewarding a career in policing can be, and I wish Class 330 all the very best as they embark on the next stage of their journey as sworn officers.”
Friday’s graduating class is the first since new NSW police commissioner Mick Fuller got the state’s top job and vowed to send resources to areas they were most needed.
