The first matter involves a break in in John Glenn Place, Dubbo, between 1pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday.
Between these times a person or persons have forced the rear laundry door and stolen a television.
In another incident, a Baird Drive residence had a lucky escape on Friday night when a person or persons tried to remove a flyscreen from a window endeavouring to get into the house.
On this occasion the would-be thief was unsuccessful, with the thief leaving empty-handed after having been outsmarted by the flyscreen.
In Wellington about 3pm on Saturday afternoon, police observed a Wellington man removing property from an unoccupied house.
The male was apprehended by police and continues to assist police with enquires.
“We appeal to members of the community to keep their property secured as much as they can, leave nothing to chance – there are some amongst us that seek to steal from us, don't give them the opportunity,” a police spokesperson said.
“Lock all your windows and doors, keep your security door locked when you are at home.
“Consider having security screens installed, as well as security lighting, an alarm system – do what it takes to make it hard for these criminals.
“We also ask that anyone with information that can assist police in their current inquires to ring Dubbo Police on 6883 1599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
