Wreaths were hung in the CBD in December to celebrate the festive season. Unfortunately they were the target of thieves, who stole baubles off the decorations.
As part of a wrap up of the initiative to council, Ignite program coordinator Nicola Chandler said the wreaths should be installed facing the street to make stealing baubles difficult, and should not be placed on light poles in Macquarie Street.
Ms Chandler also recommended the use of steel cable ties to secure the wreaths, rather than chains which she said provided traction for thieves to steal the decorations.
