The Barry Lew-trained gelding has enjoyed a strong start to his career, scoring five wins and only missing out on a top two finish in four of his 13 starts.
Karloo Damjor hasn’t raced since March of 2016 but will return to action on Wednesday when jumping from gate in the Stu Valentine 4 Bloodstock Ins Pace (2260m).
Bathurst-based driver Mat Rue will again have the drive, having been in the gig for every start the son of Art Major has had.
Lew will hoping this preparation can be even better than his previous two, with Karloo Damajor having come within a whisker of winning a Group 1 in the past when finishing second in the $102,000 2015 Gold Crown at Bathurst.
In terms of his competition on Wednesday evening, the main threat may come from right next to Karloo Damajor at gate one.
Nathan Turnbull’s Its A Shakedown hasn’t won in his past three starts but has shown enough promise before to be a genuine threat.
In other events, home town trainer Colin Frisby expects a tough time with his chance Alpha Styx.
Coming off a last-start ninth, Alpha Styx will take on the likes of Group 1 Breeders Challenge runner-up Sams The Master in the Reliance Pace (1730m).
“He’s been going alright lately, but nothing exciting though,” Frisby said. “Against horses like Sams The Master he’s not in the same class.”
Racing starts 6.10pm.
