Douglas Dodds fronted Magistrate Philip Stewart on Friday after originally being bail refused a day prior.
He was charged in relation to an incident in the early hours of Thursday morning, when police allege several males entered a property on Englewood Drive, and stole a cabinet containing four firearms, cash and documents.
Following inquiries, about 3.15am, police observed a vehicle in Cobra Street, Dubbo. It stopped in Hopetoun Street and four people left the vehicle and fled.
The dog squad tracked Dodds before he was apprehended and charged.
In refusing bail, Magistrate Stewart cited as reasons the serious nature of the offence, the strength of the prosecution case and the likelihood of a custodial sentence if Dodds is found guilty.
Dodds was on bail for other matters at the time and will be in court on those matters on Monday. He will front again on the charges stemming from Thursday on January 18, 2017.
