Phil Walker was presented with a certificate of appreciation and a plaque was unveiled in his honour for his work at the shed.
Men’s Shed president Kevin Sinclair said Mr Walker had done a significant amount of work at the shed, including preparing the ground for and laying the pavers.
“We haven’t forgotten the rest of the men who helped out at the shed in any way, but we felt we’d take the opportunity at this stage to present this to Phil, for him and his family,” Mr Sinclair said.
Peter Bradley said Mr Walker was one of the shed’s staunchest members, and everyone would always remember his great card playing, as well as his ability to create money from anywhere.
The plaque, located on the outside of the building said the path “was named in recognition of Phil Walker’s time and effort in establishing this area in 2011”.
