Just after 7am today, emergency services were called to Great Western Highway, Glanmire, (near Bathurst) following reports a Mitsubishi Triton had crashed into a tree.
A 25-year-old man, who was the driver of the vehicle, was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, but died at the scene.
The passenger, a 23-year-old man, was also treated at the scene before being taken to Orange Health Services with minor injuries.
Officers attached to Chifley Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

EARLIER: ONE person is trapped following an accident east of Bathurst on Monday morning.
Emergency services are on scent at the accident at Glanmire, approximately 12 kilometres east of Bathurst.
RTA Live Traffic have advised one eastbound lane is closed and there will be intermittent stoppage in both directions as police conduct their investigation.
Motorists are advised to take care if they are travelling through the area.
