After inviting the opposition to bat first, the Dubbo bowlers applied consistent pressure to the Parkes lineup, taking regular wickets and exhibiting great ground fielding.
Dugald Shepherd and Kuber Thakur bowled very straight early on, before Josh Bywater came on and collected a couple of wickets. One was thanks to a sharp stumping by Hugh Sienkiewicz, who noticed the Parkes batsman was just out of his crease.
Despite a pair of 16s from Harry Jones and Jayden Pope, Parkes finished on 7-80 after their 32 overs.
Josh Bywayter finished with 3-12 from four overs while Kuber Thakur, Ty Sissian, Dudley Shepherd and Kane McFarlane all grabbed a wicket each. Special mention goes to Shepherd, who finished with 0-5 from five overs, for bowling a great length and proving very difficult to score off.
After losing an early wicket, Jack Fuller (25) and Hugh Sienkiewicz (13) put on a great partnership of 28. Sean Duggan helped Fuller continue to score freely before a flurry of wickets saw Dubbo lose 4-7 in four overs.
But a great innings of 18 not out from Charlie Tink steadied the ship and saw Dubbo pass the total six down in the 22nd over. Tink showed great maturity to keep out the straight balls before putting away the loose deliveries.
The side is now looking forward to the Dubbo grudge match in two weeks after Dubbo Blue managed an exciting win over Condobolin.
