The Nestor-coached Perth Spirit were due to play the National Rugby Championship (NRC) leading NSW Country Eagles at Orange on Saturday but the waterlogged state of the colour city’s sporting grounds forced a switch to Concord Oval in Sydney.
Nestor, who grew up outside Narromine, says he has “an affinity with the country” and hopes his in-form fourth-placed side can topple the Eagles.
The Spirit head to Sydney on the back of two straight wins, and Nestor is in a positive state of mind.
“The timing is really good because if we get a win it would be over the best team so a massive confidence boost but it would also be a sign of consistency and three wins in a row and that’s what we want,” he said.
Kick off is at 1pm.
