As many as 600 kites are expected to take to the air on Sunday at Bob Dowling Ovals, the 15th anniversary of the event in Dubbo.
Kites for Kids is part of events for Early intervention Awareness Week and a number of services come together to support the event.
Northcott key worker Lauren Memorey said Kites for Kids was “a great community event offering fun for the entire family whilst promoting inclusion during Early Intervention Week” and continued to grow in popularity.
“Kites for Kids highlights the importance of identifying and helping young children with any sort of developmental concern,” she said.
“The event also showcases the brilliant services available locally that provide help for families.
“As Dubbo is now one of only three sites across Australia still holding the event, it’s a fantastic to see such a strong level of community spirit involved in keeping the day running.”
Ms Memorey said it was fantastic to see such a strong level of community spirit involved in keeping the day running.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the schools, preschools, childcare centres and local service organisations, who put in a great effort decorating a kite to help promote the event,” she said.
“We would also like show appreciation to Dubbo’s Macquarie Regional Library for kindly offering to display our beautiful kites. Please drop in to the library to have a peek at the Kites for Kids display.”
