The annual Holden Road to Origin rolls into town and with it will be well known rugby league identities Matt Cooper and Brent Tate.
The two former Australian outside backs will help promote the upcoming Origin series, which kicks off next Wednesday, as well as run a skills clinic with local juniors.
The fun and excitement will kick off at 4pm and is free of charge.
As a thank you to Dubbo City Juniors for hosting the Road to Origin Footy Clinic, Golden West Holden will present the club with a Holden Home Ground Advantage grant of $1000 to put towards new equipment, uniforms or other upgrades.
"Local sporting clubs unite communities and we are committed to supporting them through our Home Ground Advantage program which, twice a year, offers clubs the opportunity to apply for a share of $250,000 worth of grants - including one of $100,000," Golden West Holden's Michael Adams said.
"This is our third year of running the Road to Origin and this year we are excited to include Dubbo on the tour to bring 'Origin-fever' to fans who would otherwise not have the opportunity to get a taste of the action.
"Some of the NRL's biggest and best players began their careers in regional Australian towns like Dubbo, such as Andrew Ryan, Luke Priddis and David Peachey so it's great to be able to celebrate our great sport at a grassroots level."
Cooper and Tate are sure to entertain and give their views on the upcoming series.
Both starred in positions which came under much scrutiny this week as part of the Origin squad selection.
Cooper was a mainstay in the centres and played 13 times for the Blues while in 2016 it looks certain Dragons fullback Josh Dugan will fill that position alongside Parramatta's Michael Jennings.
Tate played in the centres and on the wing and the former Cowboy will no doubt be keen to see current North Queensland three-quarter Justin O'Neill make his debut for the Maroons next week.
Dubbo is the fifth stop in the two-week regional NSW/QLD tour which allows fans to meet the former greats of the game as they put local kids through their paces in a fun skills and drills clinic
Applications for the Home Ground Advantage program open on June 1 and anyone seeking more information can visit www.holden.com.au/homegroundadvantage.
